Monthly vs Biweekly Drone Visits for Ottawa Builders

Choose a filming rhythm around how quickly the site changes and who needs the updates. Monthly and biweekly visits solve different communication needs.

When monthly visits can work

Monthly coverage can suit a longer build when the aim is to show broad changes and produce periodic stakeholder updates. It gives the project a regular visual record without implying that every intermediate operation will be captured.

When biweekly visits add value

A shorter interval can help during visible transitions or when a communications team needs more frequent material. It also creates more footage to organise and review. Discuss whether the additional visits produce useful updates for your audience before choosing a frequency.

Keep milestones separate from the calendar

A scheduled visit may fall before or after an important pour, lift or enclosure stage. Identify milestone coverage explicitly, including who confirms timing and how changes are handled. A recurring calendar alone is not a promise to capture an operation that moves at short notice.

Compare the full scope

Compare included visits, on-site time, editing, revision rounds, travel, weather arrangements and delivery frequency. A 12-month agreement should state setup costs, recurring charges and the total commitment. Use the same deliverable assumptions when comparing options.

Compare capture frequency with actual change

Write down the decisions the footage needs to support. If progress is gradual, monthly coverage may be sufficient. If the site is changing rapidly or a stage is about to become hidden, a closer interval or a dedicated milestone visit may be more useful. Frequency should follow the programme and the audience. Every two weeks is modelled as 26 visits per year in the estimate tool, rather than two visits in every calendar month. The final proposal confirms the planned dates and how changes are handled.

Make the comparison on a complete scope

When comparing options, keep the visit deliverables, editing, site count and travel assumptions consistent. Ask whether setup and the final film are included, and whether a milestone outside the normal rhythm is an additional visit. A low per-visit figure alone does not describe the campaign total. Name the approving contact and the expected turnaround for feedback. Those practical decisions influence whether a more frequent delivery is useful to the team.
