FREQUENTLY ASKED
Ottawa Drone Filming: Frequently Asked Questions
A practical starting point for your next production.
Can I book a short shoot?+
Yes. Share your location, dates and desired footage. One-off shoots receive a custom quote based on filming, editing, travel and usage.
What happens if the weather changes?+
Weather and operating conditions can affect filming. A backup date and rescheduling terms are agreed in the proposal.
Can you film at any site?+
Every site needs a feasibility review. Access, airspace, people, permissions and operating conditions determine the available options.
Who handles editing?+
Hayle can support editing and campaign production where included in the proposal. Credits and responsibilities are recorded for each project.
Where do you work?+
Stan is based in Ottawa. Send the project address to confirm availability and any travel requirements.
How does a preliminary quote work?+
Choose a service, area and capture scope. The form shows a CAD range, its included assumptions and estimated tax before you provide contact details. Stan reviews the request before a final proposal or booking. A full commercial production starts at $3,000 before tax; a narrower property or aerial shoot is a different scope.
How are year-long campaigns estimated?+
The calculator counts planned visits over a minimum 12-month term and shows setup and a final-film allowance separately. Monthly means 12 visits per year, every two weeks means 26, and weekly means 52. The full-term range is shown before tax and with estimated HST.
Can I learn to use my drone?+
Yes. Request practical drone lessons in Ottawa with Stan. Tell him your experience, drone model and goals. Equipment, location and the session plan are confirmed before booking. Practical coaching is separate from Transport Canada exams and formal flight reviews.
Is Stan part of Hayle?+
Stan Kozniewski is a Hayle partner and can be reached at stan.kozniewski@hayle.ca. Filming, production and editing responsibilities are described in the proposal and credited appropriately.
