A construction film should explain the change Capture the stages you cannot recreate One plan, several useful outputs Choose the production commitment that fitsA finished building is only one chapter. A considered construction story connects the original site, the people and equipment at work, major structural changes and the completed place. For Ottawa builders and developers, that record can support stakeholder updates and become a useful portfolio piece after handover. Start by naming the audience. A development partner may need a clear progress overview; a future client may want to understand your approach and the scale of the work. The filming plan should serve both only where the brief calls for it.
Baseline views, excavation, foundations and enclosure may disappear behind the next stage. Share the programme early and identify the moments that deserve a dedicated visit. Repeat camera positions can connect the stages visually, while close details and ground footage add context. NCTL Group’s selected excavation footage is a reference for an early stage of multi-unit construction. It does not show a completed campaign, and the page identifies the stage accurately.
An organised archive can supply dated stills, concise updates, presentation sequences and a final construction film. Agree which outputs are needed during the project and which are reserved for the final edit. Branding, captions, format and approval responsibility should be clear from the beginning. Stan is a Hayle partner, so filming and the scoped production/editing work can be coordinated through one contact. Additional interviews or campaign versions can be planned around the same project.
Start with a single milestone visit when the need is specific, or a 12-month minimum campaign when the story depends on repeat capture. The estimate tool shows setup, planned visits and a final film allowance separately. A proposal then defines the actual schedule, payment terms, scope and contingencies. Weather, access and the construction programme can change. The plan should allow the team to make useful decisions when the site evolves rather than promise identical conditions at every visit.
